Show & Glow by the Lake™, a celebration of all things motorized, kicks off the Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance weekend on Aug. 27, 2016. The event fills Veterans Park on Milwaukee’s lakefront with unique marques and collector favorites.
More than a casual car show, Show & Glow by the Lake includes motorcycles, trucks and even boats, collectively defining enthusiasts in the Midwest. “This is simply an amazing celebration that raises funds for three outstanding charities,” said Mike O’Krongly, director-The Masterpiece Ltd. “We are pleased to again partner with Autism Society of SE Wisconsin, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and Meta House to assist in their outstanding work to improve the lives of children and families in our community,” he said.
Show & Glow by the Lake includes:
- An amazing assembly of cars from antique, to hotrod and muscle along with sports cars, racecars and tuners
- Boats as members of Glacier Lake Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society show their amazing examples of vintage wooden and fiberglass watercraft.
- Motorcycles, including those represented by Moto Union and the Wisconsin Ducati Owners/Desmo Owners Club.
- Capt’n Bob & Arlo of Wisconsin Hot Rod Radio providing commentary and entertainment
- The arrival at noon of members of the Ferrari Club of North America
- A parade-like grand exit at the end of the day.
Spectators can also enjoy the Concours Village marketplace with vendors offering an array of automotive-related goods and services and memorabilia from past events.
A variety of food and beverages also will be available on the grounds.
Show & Glow by the Lake is open to anyone who wishes to show a car, truck, motorcycle or boat. Trophies, plaques and ribbons will be awarded to outstanding entrants, including People’s Choice, Judge’s Choice and Sponsor’s Choice. Online registration is now open.
Marque-specific clubs are encouraged to participate with fellow members showing their vehicles that will be placed in a group on the show field.
The cost of early registration for a vehicle is $15 if paid by Aug. 12, reduced from $25 as in past years, and includes gate entrance for both the driver and a passenger on Saturday as well as Sunday and a copy of the 2016 Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance program, a $10 value. “We want to make this event accessible for as many enthusiasts as possible,” O’Krongly said.
The deadline for pre-event registration is Aug. 12, 2016.
For the first time, day-of registrations will be accepted. Same day registration increases to $25 and includes the same benefits granted to pre-event registrants.
All spectators and registrants showing a vehicle may cast a vote for the People’s Choice awards.
On Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, an entirely different set of vehicles will fill Veterans Park for the Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance, a judged competition with premier awards including Best of Show, Sponsor’s Award and Chief Judge’s Award. Vehicles are invited to participate in this event by the Concours Committee, headed by Carl and Carrol Jensen.
