The Milwaukee Masterpiece: More than a car show

On the surface, The Milwaukee Masterpiece appears to be a car show, a stunning one at that as Veterans Park is filled for two days on an August weekend with many unique marques and collector favorites.

But look a bit deeper and you’ll discover that The Milwaukee Masterpiece event includes a variety of facets that collectively define the Masterpiece as a comprehensive event with something to offer all audiences.

Each facet is unique and would be successful on its own; together they comprise and deliver the full Milwaukee Masterpiece experience. Those facets, each distinctive, include:

The Milwaukee Masterpiece Concours d’ Elegance.

The crown jewel of the weekend, of course, is Sunday’s Concours d’Elegance when rare, exquisite and pristine vehicles – each selected by the Concours Committee – compete for top honors. A judged event, the Milwaukee Masterpiece, now in its 11th year, is the Midwest’s premier Concours d’Elegance.

Club Saturday at the M.

This is a casual, fun car show. Anyone can register their vehicle, regardless of the vehicle’s make or age. The only requirement is a minimum contribution for our charities. There is no formal judging, but there will be a People’s Choice, Judge’s Choice and Sponsor’s Award presented. Club Saturday is equally fun for those who show their vehicle as well as spectators. Members of clubs are encouraged to show their vehicles together to create an exciting display. Individuals not associated with a club are just as welcome to show off their wheeled pride and joy. Any car, truck or motorcycle is welcome.

The Masterpiece Marketplace.

The Masterpiece Marketplace, in Veterans Park, offers a shopping experience for Saturday and Sunday attendees with an array of vendors on hand. From auto parts and services to fine art and entertainment, the Marketplace showcases local, regional and national vendors of the highest caliber.

Attendees also will have the opportunity to meet representatives of each of the Milwaukee Masterpiece’s designated charities – Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and Meta House.

The Style & Speed Social.

This casual gathering may very well be the social highlight of Milwaukee’s summer as friends of the Masterpiece, including exhibitors from Saturday and Sunday, and representatives of the designated charities, gather for food, beverages and a silent auction in the beautiful setting of Bluemound Country Club. The auction will include the Masterpiece-commissioned signed original oil painting of the iconic Mustang GT350, the featured marque of the 2015 Milwaukee Masterpiece. Milwaukee artist Curt Crain’s depiction of the Mustang GT350 will serve as the centerpiece of the 2015 Milwaukee Masterpiece commemorative poster. Other items of value will be included in the auction. The Style & Speed Social is open to all. A portion of the ticket cost is tax deductible.

Food and beverage.

Guests of the Milwaukee Masterpiece will find a variety of food and beverage options available for sale in Veterans Park from light snacks to hearty sandwiches, from soft drinks and wine to Delafield Brewhaus’ craft beers.

Masterpiece memorabilia.

Milwaukee Masterpiece-identified wearables, including a golf shirt, along with posters, a commemorative program and other memorabilia will be available for purchase in Veterans Park during the Masterpiece weekend.

Tickets may be purchased in advance online.

The Masterpiece Ltd., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, hosts the annual Milwaukee Masterpiece Concours d’Elegance; Club Saturday at the M, a casual car show; and the Style & Speed Social, a social event on the evening preceding Sunday’s Concours d’ Elegance.

Proceeds from the weekend events will benefit the Masterpiece’s three designated charities – Autism Society of Southeast Wisconsin, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and Meta House. In 2014 The Masterpiece Ltd. distributed more than $37,000 to the three organizations. Since its inception, more than $187,000 has been distributed to charitable organizations.
