Curro named chair of Show & Glow Paddock

David Curro has been named chair of the Show & Glow Paddock, one of the elements of the Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance.

The paddock is a special area on the grounds of Veterans Park that features the cars, trucks and motorcycles of individuals as well as members of specific car clubs.

“We will be holding the Show & Glow Paddock — club day exhibitors previously held on Saturday– on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, with the grand Concours exhibition, thus creating for the public a spectacular display of hundreds of vehicles. The Show & Glow Paddock area on the show field will enhance the concours vehicles that will be judged for class and prestige awards,” said Mike O’Krongly, president-The Masterpiece Ltd.

The Show & Glow Paddock has been part of the Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance weekend of events for several years. In its early years, the paddock was called Club Day and had been held on Saturday preceding the judged concours d’ elegance. Then and now, multiple car clubs are represented as part of the show & glow paddock, along with many individuals who are not affiliated with a specific marque. “In 2018, for the first time, local car club members will be sharing the show field with the concours automobiles. Now, more spectators will experience the passion and thrill of the local car club members and their great automobiles,” Curro said. “Imagine the smiles on the club members as they talk about their cars.”

Curro has participated in the paddock as a director of the North Central Region Ferrari Club of America. He has also served as the master of ceremonies for the past three years and will continue that role in 2018.

“It is an honor to be chosen as the chairperson for the Show & Glow Paddock,” Curro said. “I am proud to be part of this weekend-long event that provides financial support for three outstanding charities: Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee and Meta House.

Curro, a classic car owner and amateur road racer professes a lifelong love of automobiles. His car ownership history includes a 1967 Camaro, several Corvettes, a Maserati and now Ferrari.

Car club members are encouraged to organize a group showing at the 2018 Show & Glow Paddock. Individuals not affiliated with a car club are equally welcome to participate. Online registration will open in early spring. Questions can be directed to Curro at  dcurro1@wi.rr.com.

The Masterpiece Ltd., host of the Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance, is organized and operated exclusively to support other public charities including but not limited to those operating in southeastern Wisconsin which provide medical and social service care and relief to underprivileged children and families through various motor vehicle-related fundraising events.
