Mark your calendars
The Masterpiece Ltd., host of the annual Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance, is pleased to announce the 2018 event will be held Aug. 5 at scenic Veterans Park in Milwaukee.
Mark your calendar for this not-to-be-missed annual summer event. Per Gary Messing, chairman, “We will continue to build on the excellence that has been the hallmark of this event since its inception 14 years ago. Our goal is to create an enjoyable experience not only for those who show their vehicles at this event but also the spectators, sponsors and vendors, while we raise funds to support charities that improve the quality of life for children and families in Southeast Wisconsin.”
New for 2018: We will be holding the show & glow paddock — club day exhibitors previously held on Saturday– on Sunday with the grand Concours exhibition, thus creating for the public a spectacular display of hundreds of vehicles. The show & glow paddock area on the show field will enhance the concours vehicles that will be judged for class and prestige awards.
Saturday events will include a Motor Tour for concours and show & glow paddock participants; seminars featuring car collecting experts, and the Style & Speed Social.
The 2018 driving tour will encompass a scenic drive to Ten Chimneys, the former home of Broadway actors Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt. Located in the quaint Town of Genesee, west of Milwaukee. Ten Chimneys was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2003, for the significance of its owners to the history of performing arts, and for its distinctive architecture and decoration.
Saturday night’s annual Style & Speed Social, open to the public, features wonderful food, conversation, and a silent auction.
Sunday starts bright and early when more than 150 rare and unique vehicles are placed on the show field for judging and display. As in the past, spectators can expect to see unique vehicles with impressive credentials; most have not been on the Milwaukee show field in the past. The day includes various activities such as youth judging with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. The weekend wraps up with the award ceremonies in mid afternoon for the class and special award winners.
