Date change to draw new collectors to Milwaukee Concours

2016 Milwaukee Concour d'Elegance People's ChoiceThe Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance is moving to an earlier date in 2017, opening the door to a host of collectors and exhibitors who have not competed in years past due to conflicts with other shows.

Premier Milwaukee Car Show Scheduled for August 5-6, 2017

The concours is set for the first weekend of August, a few weeks earlier than in the previous 12 years. The two-day event opens on Saturday, Aug. 5, with Show & Glow by the Lake, an open car show, as well as a motor tour and the annual Style & Speed Social. The Concours d’Elegance follows on Sunday, Aug. 6.

“We’ve been in direct conflict with Geneva (Illinois) Concours only 90 miles to the south, the Pebble Beach Concours is the third weekend of August, and it’s a long drive to Milwaukee from California.” — Carrol Jensen, Milwaukee Concours Co-Chair

Furthermore, she said, the new dates will make it easier for collectors who show vehicles at the St. John’s Concours in Plymouth, Michigan, on the last weekend of July to head over to the Milwaukee event.

“The move allows us to bring in different collectors with different cars that haven’t been seen here,” —Carrol Jensen
